There are many choices of trackers and locator devices out there, but more often than not they can be too bulky, difficult to use and unreliable.
Today i'm testing out the Musegear Finder V2 to see how this stacks up against the competition. So let's start with the basics, it's lightweight (about the weight of a single chewit of fruitella sweet) - odd comparison I know, but it's the best way to compare it's weight for the masses! It's a tad bigger than a fifty pence piece, and it's very easy to get going with.
The Finder is a simple, yet it is a well created and well thought out device. Although I did not get the chance to review V1 of the device, I get the sense that there have been additions and improvements to this new offering.
So let's get to the nitty gritty, does it actually work? Well the answer simply is yes. This a is a gadget that performs its job well, it just needs refinement. The Finder is turned on and off from from a single button, features a corner hole for a small strap, as well as an adhesive pad, if you need to secure the finder in one particular place. The small profile and lightweight nature of the product mean it doesn't feel like an annoyance, it just blends in with other key fobs and keys.
The app works well and enables you to see the location of the finder, and also has added functionality of alerting your phone to make a noise, should you lose your phone, and vice versa for the Finder so you can find both.
There are always areas of improvement for these types of devices, and although accurate, there could be more functionality to ensure there's an accurate reading of the Finder's location, as well as making a more aesthetically pleasing app interface for easy navigation around the app.
The Finder V2 is a great little gadget especially for the avid traveller like myself, connect it to your bag, place it in your wallet, or even to a family member who tends to wonder off! The finder is reasonably priced, and hopefully with time app updates will be released and iron out interface issues. But all in all its a very good offering of a location tracker. I'm sure i'll purchase more in the future for my luggage and valuables.
